Ottawa, ON,
October 22, 2001 — edgeflow Inc. (www.edgeflow.com), a developer of an
advanced metro optical networking element called an Optical Add/Drop Switch
(OADX), today announced the appointment of Michael Pascoe, a seasoned
telecommunications executive, to its board of directors.
Most recently, Mike

publicly traded DSL company that was purchased by ADC Telecommunications
(NASDAQ: ADCT) in 2000. Mr. Pascoe joined PairGain in 1998 and managed the
company through its acquisition by ADC, in a deal valued at US
$1.6 billion. Prior to PairGain, Mr. Pascoe was a key member of the management
team at Newbridge Networks (acquired by Alcatel, NYSE: ALA), as president of the U.S. division, and formerly as executive vice
president/ general manager of the North and South American business regions.
Prior to his 14 years with Newbridge, Mr. Pascoe held various engineering and
marketing positions with Nortel (NYSE: NT), Mitel Corporation and the telecom
division of Rockwell International (NYSE: ROK). Mr. Pascoe is an electrical
engineer and graduated from the University of Waterloo.
“Adding an
independent, seasoned industry executive like Mike Pascoe to our board is an
important development for edgeflow,” said Wes Biggs, edgeflow president and
chief executive officer. “As we move to expand our sales, service and market
development functions within the company, Mike’s impressive network of contacts
will be invaluable.”
Also, edgeflow
announced that Claude Haw of Venture Coaches and Ken Wigglesworth of Eagle One
Ventures have been appointed to its board. Claude Haw is the managing partner
of Venture Coaches, a seed investor in edgeflow. Before founding Venture
Coaches, Mr. Haw spent 11 years at Newbridge Networks Corporation, most
recently as Vice-President of Corporate Business Development, where he managed
strategic investments in more than 20 companies from start-up to pre-IPO stage.
Mr. Haw was directly responsible for the Affiliate Program Office, which
involved the incubation and spin-off of highly focused, entrepreneurial
companies to complement Newbridge’s product strategy. Mr. Haw has also held
senior management positions at Mitel Corporation and Leigh Instruments.
Ken Wigglesworth is a
founder and principal of Eagle One Ventures Corporation. Eagle One is the
Canadian partner for California-based Newbury Ventures, the co-lead investor in
edgeflow’s recently closed

prior to Eagle One Ventures, he was executive vice president administration and
chief financial officer at Newbridge Networks. As CFO, he was instrumental in
the creation, incubation and exit strategies of many Newbridge affiliates —
notably Tundra, Cambrian (acquired by Nortel), and Abatis (acquired by Redback)

of the board are edgeflow president and CEO Wes Biggs and Sierra Ventures
