DragonWave Expands AirPair Product Portfolio With the Addition of New Frequencies and Protection Option

DragonWave Inc. a leading global supplier of next-generation wireless networks, today announced the expansion of the AirPair™ product family with the addition of 11, 13 and 15 GHz to their frequency portfolio and new protection options with the UpMast Radio Switch (UMRS).

Further enhancing DragonWave’s rich IP-based product portfolio, the new frequencies builds upon AirPair’s IP wireless high-capacity, carrier-class product platform, the 11, 13 and 15 GHz will significantly increase deployment flexibility. These new frequencies will significantly reduced susceptibility to rain, especially in high rain-rate regions, and provide considerable improved reach and network availability.

The UpMast Radio Switch (UMRS) complements the industry leading mesh restoration capability of the AirPair product. For single links the UMRS will provide improved network availability at a low overall cost, by enabling radio redundancy with a single modem. This will reduce network downtime, and eliminate the need for fast response time to climb towers for radio repairs. UMRS will be compatible with existing AirPair equipment, enabling in the field network hardening.

DragonWave will showcase their new product expansion at the WCA International Symposium and Business Expo (Booth #206) taking place January 18- 20 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California.

The DragonWave solution is a flexible bandwidth radio platform which can scale from 10 to 200 Mbps in 10 Mbps increments providing scalable, ultra-low latency, wire-speed native Ethernet connectivity.
