John Saull, Partner & CFO

John is a designated accountant in both Canada and the United States with over 20 years of diversified business experience.

John is a founding Partner and CFO at Venture Coaches, where he is responsible for all the financing, accounting, investor reporting, and administrative activities. His expertise helps the portfolio companies develop their corporate structure, tax planning, financial accounting and reporting guidelines. John’s extensive hands-on business experience reflects the Venture Coaches commitment to provide continual guidance and support to its companies. He has served on both Audit Committees and the Board of Directors of Venture Coaches portfolio companies.

Prior to Venture Coaches he held several senior financial positions at Alcatel Networks (formerly Newbridge Networks), including Director of Risk Management, having responsibility for developing financial controls and processes for the worldwide operations. He was the Director of Product Group Finance, where he provided financial and strategic direction to the Access and Switching Divisions. While at Alcatel Networks John served as the Treasurer of Severn Bridge Investments, a multi-million dollar investment fund, comprised of Newbridge Affiliates, with over 450 individual investors.

John spent more than ten years in public accounting with Arthur Andersen & Co. and KPMG, providing financial consulting services to a broad range of clients. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1987 and Certified Public Accountant designation in 2006.
