Bill Pearson, Associate, Canadian Cleantech Fund

Bill has been involved in environmental and energy issues for over 30 years, helping Natural Resources Canada chart a course on energy. Bill learned about coal at Natural Resources Canada where he mastered the fundamentals of energy economics. In subsequent roles, he migrated to “green” energy roles, leading an initiative to build green energy zones, then leading a large R&D team on developing advanced combustion technologies. In 1998, Bill became the NRCan lead on Biomass Combustion, where he investigated bio-mass densification and combustion technologies, and in 2002 he led the NRCan team studying fossil fuels and climate change. Bill developed a “clean coal” technology roadmap and studied combustion and CO2 sequestration technologies.
Bill has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, and an M.B.A. from the University of Ottawa.
Bill’s role at Venture Coaches is to provide a sound technical and economic analysis for all energy related investments and opportunities, as well as to help establish an energy strategy for Venture Coaches’ portfolio companies.
